Aqui Con El Nene - Tucson, AZ
Mike Miranda in Tucson, AZ recommends:
Aqui Con El Nene
Corner of Flowing Wells & Wetmore
Tucson, AZ 85707
Finally an authentic taco stand invaded the North side. Meet Nene...and his stand, Aqui Con El Nene (Here with The Nene)! This stand, almost as elaborate as a full-fledged restaurant, gets contstructed and dismantled, once a day, six days a week, on the corner of Flowing Wells and Wetmore. What's great is that I, being a resident of the North side, so longer have to drive 15 miles to the South side for great tacos. Now, they are in my backyard. Nene's makin' it to easy for me to get fat!
This episode originally aired Wednesday, September 30th 2009 on Cox TV-7 in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.

best tacos over tucson!ReplyDelete
hey.. but why not the fifth sombrero.?
Taco Inspector, huh. I got two things for ya:ReplyDelete
1. Flour Tortillas = Nene laughing at you inside the truck for being such a gringo. Tortillas were first made using corn, but thanks to Tex-Mex, everybody thinks, like you, that it's gotta be, "harina...siempre." It ashames me that you talk about "real, authentic taco shops," but order flour.
2. As a food reviewer, it's one thing to publish your face on the website, but it is completely irresponsible and borderline unethical to announce yourself as an inspector before ordering. Bush league dude...pull it together.
3. This is painful, but...cheese and lettuce...just fyi, all the mexicans that go to get their authentic mexican food have cilantro, diced onions, and maybe a little bit of queso fresco...none of this tex-mex cheddar BULL.
4. I love what you're doing: These taco trucks, with the limited space that they have, are putting out some of the tastiest Mexican food around, but they have no way to market, so people think that Chipotle is the way to go. Support your local taco truck!
